Fostering - It Matters!

Fostering saves lives...It’s that simple.

The more fosters Lizzy’s Lodge has, the more dogs we can save and give a second chance at life. Foster homes help dogs recover from their past by providing the comfort, kindness and the time they need to learn to trust people. In foster homes, dogs learn to live without fear, hunger or pain, but most of all, dogs learn about love.

Rescue Dogs Need Foster Families

Give them the love and care they so desperately need!

Rescue dogs come from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia, from families that can no longer care for them, or from people who just don’t want them. Some dogs end up in shelters because they are old, sick, or found wandering the streets. Sometimes there has been a death in a family or a change in family circumstances. All too often dogs have been neglected, abused, or treated cruelly. Even dearly loved dogs are taken to shelters or released to rescues. So foster homes are incredibly helpful in giving dogs time to recover, heal, and adjust to new circumstances. Lizzy’s Lodge gets dogs from shelters, from families, and from vets, boarding kennels, or other locations where dogs have been abandoned.
